Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how TrailNaut ("we", "us") handles information when you use the TrailNaut iOS app (the "App"). We built TrailNaut to be private by default. We do not track you across other companies' apps or websites, we do not use advertising networks, and we do not sell or share personal data with data brokers.
Summary: You can use TrailNaut in guest mode without an account. If you sign in, we store only what is needed to run app features. User ID, email, name, location, photos/videos, and user content are used for app functionality only and are not used for tracking.

How we use information
- Operate core features: discovery, maps, saves, posting, and profiles.
- Sync saves and content across devices when signed in.
- Show your name, profile, and public content to other riders.
- Keep the community safe through moderation, reporting, and blocking.
Public content
Trails, reviews, condition reports, TalkTrails posts, and rider profiles you create are public to other TrailNaut users by design. Private data, such as your saved-trail mirror, is readable only by you. Please do not post anything you would not want other riders to see.
How your data is stored
Account data and public content are stored on Google Firebase project trailnaut-fcca4 and transmitted over encrypted HTTPS connections. Some data, such as local profile details, saved IDs, and blocked authors, is stored on your device using standard iOS storage.
Third-party services
- Firebase (Google) - authentication and cloud storage for account data and public content.
- Sign in with Apple, Google, or email - used only if you choose to sign in.
- Apple Maps (MapKit) - renders maps and trailheads.
We do not integrate analytics SDKs, advertising SDKs, data broker SDKs, or cross-app tracking tools.
Your choices and rights
- Use without an account - guest mode requires no sign-in.
- Location control - grant, deny, or revoke location permission in iOS Settings at any time.

Children
TrailNaut is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.
